Narrative Idea 1

Genre: Supernatural Comedy
Synopsis: Guy is "16" and socially awkward. For some reason he can't seem to fit into society. We follow the struggles of Guy's life as he encounters bullies, girls, school and the fact that Guy cannot age. A life-long family curse prevents all members from his family from aging, and has followed Guy in his life for the past 32 years. Having gone through secondary school so many times, you'd think he'd have got the hang of this whole school-malarkey, but not being able to stay in the same place too long has fed his pessimism, and Guy refuses to get attached to anything or anyone. That is, until, he meets Poppy. Unable to ignore the chemistry between them, and the new-found popularity Guy has gained, he is faced with the difficult decision between telling Poppy about the curse or leaving the life he loves behind.
Opening idea: Guy walks down a school hallway, and we see him subtly move to avoid certain disasters. A narration plays over the top of Guy explaining about his life in a chatty, teen kind of way. This narration continues up until he sits down in a school canteen and Poppy walks in with slow motion effects and dream-like fading. We see that Guy is utterly blown over by her, and just as he is about to say hi to her, a glob of mash potato hits him in the face. Cue opening credits.
Thoughts: We found this idea to be interesting, comedic and fresh in comparison to what the majority of AS Level film openings seem to choose, which is horror. However this would be a hard narrative to create an opening as we would need a school environment and numerous extras to make up students. This would also require a large budget, which, as students, we do not have. We need an opening that will be accessible and within our budget to make.
