Media Studies at Weald of Kent prepares the students (like me) for careers in the glamorous industry of Media. The specification for Media Studies combines theoretical and practical approaches by asking us to write about our experiences in the synoptic examinations. This also requires a full understanding of the new media that have integrated themselves into today's society, which we learn through applying such media in our coursework and in our written exam. Another thing that we must learn and understand is Media in a historical context, and key concepts of language, representations, audiences and institutions.
In Media, we are allowed to express our creativity and imagination through the utilisation of skills in our own individual and unique films and printed media.

I chose to take Media Studies, as I have a passion for filming and editing, and I wish to take this further through going to a university with an excellent film and television course, in order to develop and direct my love of Media further.
